As we leave 2024 behind and move into 2025 it’s a good idea to look back at the real estate trends in our rural communities. What matters are the facts.

In 2025, there will be lots of guessing at how the market is doing. Media outlets tend to focus on the negative. Real estate organizations, real estate boards and companies highlight the positive.

As a consumer with a financial investment in your home or someone looking to buy a home, you need to ignore the hype from both sides and focus on the facts. This is why I do these videos. It is the facts, just the facts that matter. Those facts will vary from community to community and these videos will help you to better understand the market. I always suggest to look at all of them as towns differ and a broader understanding of the market will help you.

The Ottawa Real Estate Board has released it’s latest home sale numbers. Our main web page covers several rural areas and we have added videos for several communities to our statistics page.

We are seeing mixed numbers in our rural areas as some towns are still holding on as a sellers’ market, others have moved into a balanced market and a couple are now a buyers’ market.

HOW IS THE REAL ESTATE MARKET DOING?

1.    The market in the rural and semi-rural areas that we serve continues to pick up with many areas doing better when compared to last year at this time. The videos will give you a pretty good idea of what is happening in each community.

   2    The APRIL 2024 sales numbers are not yet out for the entire Ottawa Board. They should be soon. Once they are published, I will do a separate video on what those numbers mean and post it on our statistics page with the other videos.
